West Central administrators will be meeting today to discuss strategies concerning the coronavirus.
Superintendent Dan Zylstra told the school board members Thursday night that proactive measures are at the forefront of the conversation. He said if the school corporation was told or the administrators deemed it appropriate to shut down the school for safety purposes, they would need to have a plan in place.
“We’re looking at doing that in such a way that we can utilize our eLearning technology and potentially keep school going even if we’re not able to meet normally,” stated Zylstra.
Similarly, Zylstra said he’ll be meeting with officials from the Health Department, first responders, the hospital, and the county on Monday to discuss strategy and keep the communication going where the coronavirus is concerned.
In the meantime, educators are urging students to keep hands washed to prevent the spread of germs.
