U.S. 6 will be closed near the U.S. 35 intersection for a few weeks beginning on Monday, April 27.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the road will be closed for bridge deck and approach repair on the structure over the Kankakee River. The work is anticipated to be complete by May 14, but it is all dependent on the weather.
Drivers who use the route are urged to use the official detour that utilizes State Road 23, U.S. 30 and U.S. 35.
