The Oregon-Davis School Corporation is sharing its eLearning plans for the rest of the school year. The state is requiring schools to provide instruction by remote learning.
O-D will continue to hold eLearning days each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, according to the Bobcat Blast email newsletter. The last day of class remains May 21. During each eLearning day, teachers will be available online from 9:00 a.m. to noon CDT. Teachers and administrators will take part in virtual collaboration meetings every Monday and Friday.
The schedule may be adjusted as the school corporation gets more information from the state. School officials stress that even though students are working from home, grades and credits are being earned throughout the remainder of the school year.
Meanwhile, all school activities and events are canceled for the rest of the school year. Information about graduation requirements, commencement, and summer school will be released later.
Additionally, school officials say Oregon-Davis has donated several gloves, masks, and other items to the Starke County Health Department.
The school corporation is also serving about 100 sack lunches per day to students. Lunches continue to be available for pickup each weekday from 11:00 a.m. to noon at the Hamlet Fire Station, the Koontz Lake Fire Station, and door number four of the junior/senior high school. Student lunches also include a breakfast for the next morning.
