Pulaski County COVID-19 Cases Increase, New Report from ISDH

Another 718 Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the Indiana State Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories.  Nearly 14,400 people have now tested positive for the virus to date.

Pulaski County’s total number of positive COVID-19 cases has jumped to nine.  The total sat at one positive case for several weeks before the number increased to four, then to seven and now to nine this week alone.  Starke County remains at 13 cases while Marshall County is at 26.  One death has been reported in Starke County and one in Marshall County.

Cass County numbers increased considerably with over 160 people testing positive who work at a meat processing plant in Logansport.  The cases listed in Saturday’s report totals 315 to date. 

The Indiana State Department of Health also reported a total of 785 Hoosiers who have died of COVID-19.  State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box said Friday afternoon that a new statistic showing the number of probable deaths is included in the daily report.  Saturday’s report showed 87 probable deaths.  According to health officials, probable deaths are those for which a physician listed COVID-19 as a contributing cause based on x-rays, scans and other clinical symptoms, but no positive test is on record.
