Starke County Residents Can Request Absentee Ballots through Facebook Messenger

Starke County Clerk Bernadette Manuel announced Monday morning that residents asking for an absentee ballot in the upcoming June 2 Primary Election may do so by messaging the Starke County Clerk’s Office through its Facebook page.

Absentee voting will begin on Tuesday, May 5 at 8 a.m. CT.  The deadline for the Voter Registration Office to receive an application to vote absentee by mail is Thursday, May 21 by midnight. Applications can be obtained by mail, email at electionmail@co.starke.in.us, by a request by message through the Starke County Clerk’s Office Facebook page, or printed off the Indiana Voter website www.indianavoters.com and delivered to the clerk’s office at the Starke County Courthouse.

Manuel urges voters who don’t feel comfortable going to the polls to vote absentee by mail.  The Secretary of State’s office has relaxed the requirements for voting absentee so everyone can vote absentee by mail if desired.

Confined voters will be able to vote by Travel Board.  Call 574-772-9160 to request the Travel Board.  Be sure to call early in the Travel Board voting window beginning Thursday, May 14 to June 1 by noon.

In-office absentee voting begins Tuesday, May 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Starke County Courthouse, and on Saturday, May 23 and Saturday, May 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT.
