A free COVID-19 testing site is opening in Plymouth Monday. Testing will be available at Menominee Elementary School at 815 Discovery Lane, according to the Marshall County Health Department. It’s one of several testing locations opening around the state as part of the Indiana State Department of Health’s agreement with OptumServe Health Services.
Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms is encouraged to get tested, along with certain groups of people who don’t have symptoms. They include those over age 65, those with underlying health conditions like diabetes, obesity or high blood pressure, pregnant women, and members of minority populations that are at a higher risk. Close contacts of those known to have COVID-19 should also be tested, if they live with someone who’s at a high risk or if they have to continue to work.
Testing at Menominee Elementary School will be free of charge to Indiana residents. Those with health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid are asked to bring that information.
The testing site will be open next Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EDT. Those who need to get tested can register online at LHI.care/CovidTesting or by calling 888-634-1116.
