The construction season is ramping up with several projects planned for the next few weeks.
Currently, State Road 8 between State Road 49 and U.S. 421 in LaCrosse is closed for a bridge deck overlay over the Grassmere Ditch between County Road S 600 E. and County Road 1185 W. The project is expected to be complete in mid-June.
A project that remains in progress is a hot mix asphalt overlay between N 250 W. and Industrial Drive on U.S. 30 through Valparaiso. Eastbound and westbound lane closures are anticipated through the duration of the project that will continue through the beginning of October.
Lane closures on State Road 39 and U.S. 35 in La Porte for patching and resurfacing begin on June 1. Flaggers will be directing traffic on State Road 39 during work hours. The four lanes on U.S. 35 will be reduced to two lanes with one lane in each direction. The entire project will be complete by the beginning of September.
Additionally, lane closures are planned beginning June 1 on State Road 10 between State Road 23 and State Road 17 in Culver for a patching and resurfacing project. Work will take place during the daylight hours with flaggers directing traffic. The project will be done in mid-August.
INDOT officials ask drivers to stay alert near construction zones and allow extra time to get to a destination.
