Knox businesses will be able to apply for COVID-19 response funding starting Wednesday. The city has gotten $250,000 through the state’s COVID-19 Response Program to give to local businesses to help with job retention.
To qualify, businesses have to have issued W-2 forms to their employees, and the employees will have to complete income surveys. Nonprofit organizations are not eligible, according to city officials.
The applications and income surveys will be available at CityOfKnox.net starting Wednesday. City officials will offer help with filling out the forms Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox.
Completed applications and income surveys are due by Friday, May 29. They may be placed in the drop-box at Knox City Hall.
City officials stress that any funding awarded will not have to be paid back to the city.
