Today is the day to help raise funds for the Starke County Youth Club in the organization’s annual Radiothon on K99.3 WKVI!
Starke County Youth Club Executive Director Irene Szakonyi and a few volunteers will be taking phone pledges from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT today to help fund the organization’s after school programs that include homework assistance, enrichment activities, and recreational centers. Szakonyi says these programs help build responsibility and character where students can prepare for the future workforce.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hosts will take phone calls of special guests for the day to present information to listeners instead of doing so in person. Those individuals may include government officials, school representatives, and community partners. Starke County Youth Club participants and families will also share stories of how the after school program helps shape lives.
Each pledge submitted on May 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT will help continue the successes of the children who are part of the Starke County Youth Club. Pledges can be called in at 574-772-6241 or by visiting www.thescyc.org. More information can also be reviewed on that website.
