Landscaping upgrades at the entrance to the Pulaski County Fairgrounds have gotten some financial support from 4-H leaders and fair organizers. The Winamac Park Board has decided to install landscaping stone in the island where the entrance sign is located and surround it with curbing to replace the rotting wooden posts.
During this month’s meeting, Park Board President Jon Chapman said the Franklin Farmers 4-H Club has offered to help with the cost. “Their club had received a couple hundred dollars from the community foundation, I believe, for community service,” Chapman explained. “They wanted to donate that to defray the cost of the entrance to the horseshoe, that curbing and stone. Elaine Zeider from the 4-H board, their board is going to give $500.”
Work was scheduled to take place this month, using the same contractor responsible for the Town Park’s restroom project.
