Marshall County Health Department officials have confirmed the county’s second COVID-19 death.
Officials said on Monday that the man died of the novel coronavirus on Monday, May 25. The death was officially reported to the health department on Sunday, May 31. No other information about the patient will be released due to privacy laws.
Health officials remind residents to wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and observe social distancing when out in the public.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone should wear a cloth face cover when out in public. Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under the age of two, anyone who has trouble breathing, or who is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. The cloth face cover is meant to protect other people in case you are infected.
