North Judson Home Destroyed in Thursday Morning Fire

A North Judson house is considered a total loss, following a fire Thursday morning. North Judson-Wayne Township Firefighters were called to 222 Park Avenue just before 6:30, according to Fire Chief Joe Leszek.

Firefighters said in a Facebook post that flames were showing through the roof and out of three sides of the two-story structure. Leszek says the home’s construction made putting out the fire difficult, and firefighters remained on the scene for about four hours.

No one was hurt. The cause is undetermined.

The Facebook post notes that 35,000 gallons of water were used in the response, which could lead to rusty-colored water in parts of North Judson. Residents may clear it up by running their water for a few minutes.
