North Judson-San Pierre, Oregon-Davis Share More Graduation Details

North Judson-San Pierre and Oregon-Davis are sharing more details about their graduation plans.

N.J.-S.P. is holding its graduation on Sunday, July 19. Superintendent Dr. Annette Zupin told the school board Tuesday that the ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Liberty Field. “This is a live event, a pretty traditional event, not as long, probably,” Zupin explained. “We won’t have a guest speaker, but this is a pretty traditional event.”

Zupin said senior awards will be incorporated into the ceremony, and the valedictorian and salutatorian will give speeches. Principal Jim Polite is asking seniors how many guests they might bring, before he decides whether limitations might have to be put in place. If it rains, Zupin said graduation will most likely be moved into the gym.

Oregon-Davis Junior/Senior High School’s graduation will be Wednesday, July 1 at 6:00 p.m. at the school’s soccer field. Principal B.J. Awald told the O-D School Board Monday that the school has decided not to restrict attendance to immediate family, but give each senior six tickets to give to whomever they wish.

There will be assigned seating on the soccer field to maintain at least six feet of distance between groups. The school will have chairs available, but guests may also bring their own chairs or blankets.

Awald said the ceremony will be limited to about an hour and will include a condensed version of senior recognitions. A rain date has been set for July 2.
