Starke County residents will be able to conduct business inside the county buildings beginning Monday, June 15.
The Starke County Commissioners chose to follow the state’s guidance on when government buildings would open to the public which was originally slated for June 14. Governor Eric Holcomb announced Wednesday, June 10 that the next reopening stage could start a few days sooner, but the county will wait until Monday, June 15 to allow members of the public inside the buildings.
Starke Circuit Court will remain closed to the public unless Judge Kim Hall grants an exception. Until court opens, hearings may be observed online by following the prompts on www.starkecircuitcourt.com.
Residents are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings while inside the Starke County Courthouse and Starke County Annex buildings to conduct business. Hand sanitizer will be available for use and residents are urged to use it.
County buildings have been closed to the public without an appointment since March.
