The Knox Board of Works will continue discussing a proposed time extension for the wastewater plant project today. Thieneman Construction is asking for an extra 56 days to complete the work. Substantial completion had originally been scheduled for next Monday.
Last week, board members said they wanted to meet with Thieneman representatives before making a decision, after Mayor Dennis Estok expressed concern with the pace of the work so far and the potential financial impact if the existing equipment were to fail before the project is complete.
This morning’s special Knox Board of Works meeting starts at 11:00 a.m. at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center.
