Knox School Board to Consider COVID-19 Plan, Personnel Items Tonight

A COVID-19 plan for the 2020-2021 school year will be up for the Knox School Board’s approval tonight.

Starke County’s school corporations have been working to coordinate reentry plans with the Starke County Health Department, but many of the final decisions are up to the individual school boards.

The Knox School Board will also consider a number of personnel items tonight. Newly-hired high school assistant principal Scott Frye apparently resigned from the position before he even officially started. Meanwhile, board members will also consider the hiring of Russ Radtke as the school corporation’s attendance officer and events coordinator, as well as head football coach.

Corey Bucher will be up for approval as Knox High School dean of students. School officials are also recommending that former high school principal Dr. Elizabeth Ratliff be transferred to director of student support services at Knox Middle School. Administrative contracts will be up for approval tonight.

The Knox School Board is also expected to set book rental and technology fees as well as breakfast and lunch prices for the coming school year. They’ll also finalize a list of items to add to the third phase of the school corporation’s building project.

Tonight’s Knox School Board meeting starts at 6:30 in the Knox Schools Administrative Office.
