The Oregon-Davis School Board will consider a COVID-19 reopening plan Monday. A draft version released this week says that students and staff would be encouraged to wear face coverings, especially on buses and in hallways.
Classes would be organized to allow for social distancing, with all of the desks facing in the same direction. Some classes could be held outdoors, if possible. No assemblies or field trips are planned until pandemic conditions subside.
Hallways at the junior/senior high school would be limited to one-way traffic in a counter-clockwise direction, with passing periods being increased by a minute. On the playground, students may be limited to certain sections to increase social distancing.
If a positive case is confirmed in one of the school buildings, students and most staff would be dismissed for two to five days, although the exact length of the closure would be determined on a case-by-case basis with input from health officials.
Before the school board votes on the plan Monday, parents can share their thoughts and questions with an online feedback form.
