State Road 8 will be closed for seal coating beginning Monday, July 13.
Officials from the Indiana Department of Transportation say that the road will be closed from U.S. 421 to State Road 39 for about three days, depending on the weather.
Local traffic will have access, but thru-traffic will be restricted.
The seal coating process involves the application of a new driving surface on the roadway, which seals cracks and provides waterproof protection. Loose aggregate will cover the seal coat and then it will be swept off the surface. A fog seal will complete the process after a curing period.
Seal coating extends the life of the surface for about five years and lowers maintenance costs.
