Sixth Starke County Resident Dies of COVID-19

Another Starke County resident has died of COVID-19, according to Wednesday’s report from the Indiana State Department of Health.

The number of residents who have died of COVID-19 in Starke County is now up to six.  Marshall County has had 20 deaths and Pulaski County has had only one COVID-19 death. 

Eight additional COVID-19 deaths were reported in the state to bring the total to 2,733.

Marshall County had two new positive COVID-19 cases in Wednesday’s report for a new cumulative total of 720, while Starke County had one new case to take the cumulative total to 152 and Pulaski County’s numbers stayed the same at 69. 

Patients are in varying stages of fighting the virus and recovering from the virus. 

The Indiana State Department of Health announced that 630 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the state which brings the state total to 64,299. 

The drive-thru COVID-19 testing clinics at Knox High School and Plymouth Wesleyan Church will continue today through Saturday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time each day.  Anyone over the age of 12 is welcome to get a COVID-19 test for free.
