Knox Working to Incorporate Canceled Fall Bash Events into 2021 Fourth of July Celebration

While next month’s Fall Bash has been canceled, the City of Knox is already busy rescheduling many of the festivities for next July. Mayor Dennis Estok told the city council last week that the city didn’t really have an option. “There’s no way we could meet any of the conditions set forth to have a gathering over 250 down there, so we just went ahead and canceled it,” he explained.

Estok said the Magic Bus performance and the Knox Alumni Reunion kickoff have both been rescheduled for Friday, July 2, 2021, while the fireworks have been scheduled for July 3, to coincide with the Fun Day in the Park. “I think it’ll work out pretty good because, most reunions, always, the night before, you meet somewhere,” Estok added. “So I think July 2 with Magic Bus playing to kick it off. And then, for those alumni that are coming from other towns or something, I think it’d be nice for them to stay around Saturday to enjoy the Fun Day in the Park and the fireworks, and we’ll have entertainment also that day for them. So I think it’ll work out good.”

The Magic Bus performance is being funded by a $3,000 Rural Indiana Performance Fund grant. Mayor Estok said that money was originally supposed to be used by June 30 of next year, but the city was granted an extension of a few days.
