North Judson Town Marshal Confident That Railroad Museum Vandals Will Be Punished

The North Judson town marshal says she’s confident that there will be restitution and punishment, following last week’s vandalism at the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum. Town Marshal Kelly Fisher told the town council Monday that a break-in occurred last Thursday, and then about 30 windows were broken on the museum property the following day.

“They’re juveniles, young juveniles, and those cases are real sensitive,” Fisher explained. “Obviously, we can’t mention any names or talk about it like we would a normal case.”

Now, Fisher says the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office and Probation Office are working on the next steps. “I can say that the parents are on board with us,” Fisher said. “They want these juveniles to learn their lesson and be punished and even do community service.”

Fisher added that the prosecutor will likely reach out to museum officials to figure out what the alleged vandals may do to help repair the damage.
