Pulaski County, North Judson Awarded Funding to Provide COVID-19 Relief to Businesses

Pulaski County and the Town of North Judson are each getting $250,000 to help local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both were awarded grant funding in the latest round of the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs’ COVID-19 Response Program.

Pulaski County will use the money to provide grants of up to $10,000 to small businesses. OCRA said North Judson’s portion would be used for a revolving loan program to help businesses stay open and retain jobs, but Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe has since clarified that it would also be a grant program, as previously discussed. LaPorte and Marshall counties were also awarded $250,000 to help businesses in those communities.

In all, the state awarded more than $10 million to 42 rural communities in this round of the COVID-19 Response Program. Funding for this round came from Indiana’s share of federal CARES Act money.
