The Starke County Election Board discussed poll worker hours for the November General Election.
Clerk Bernadette Manuel said there will be workers staffed at the satellite locations, the Starke County Courthouse for early voting and at all seven Vote Centers on the day of the fall election.
Their hours will include set up and tear down of equipment at the satellite locations at the Koontz Lake Association Building and the North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department. The Election Board members discussed the possibility of storing all equipment at the sites, but wanted to keep the equipment as secure as possible at the Starke County Courthouse to maintain the integrity of the election.
Absentee worker hours were also decided and they will start in mid-September in order to begin processing absentee ballot applications. Ballots will be mailed out on Sept. 19 and voters are urged to return them in a timely fashion.
