Winamac Putting Finishing Touches on Park Restrooms, Toddler Playground

The Town of Winamac is putting the finishing touches on its new Town Park restrooms and toddler playground. Town Manager Brad Zellers recently told the rest of the town’s park board that the sewer and water was hooked up at the new restrooms. Signage, ADA-compliant ramps, and landscaping still needed to be installed.

At the toddler playground, Zellers said the sand still needed to be added, along with the diggers. Board members also discussed the possibility of installing signs restricting the playground equipment to children age five and younger.

Meanwhile, Zellers said town employees were still looking for some direction about where to put the new permanent cornhole court, and some board members suggested simply replacing one of the two existing horseshoes courts. Park Board Secretary Kim Burke said the basketball backboards and disc golf equipment still have to be ordered.

All of those projects were part of the town’s Land and Water Conservation Fund grant.
