Culver Town Council Reviews Applicants in Large Employer Debt Relief Program

The Culver Town Council members recently reviewed the applications submitted for utility assistance through the Large Employer Debt Relief Program.

Town Manager Jonathan Leist previously told the Culver Town Council members that the relief program application and qualifications are similar to that of the small business relief program presented earlier in the year, but it will benefit companies that employ 50 people or more or government entities.  Members of a subcommittee looked at the applications for a recommendation to the town council.

The maximum award was $4,500, or the total of the three bills for the months outlined in the application, whatever cost is less.

Four applications were reviewed by the subcommittee and put forward to the town council at their recent meeting for consideration.

The total amount of the applications was $14,287.94.  They included acpi for $4,413.76, Culver Educational Foundation for $4,500, Culver Community School Corporation for $4,500 and the Culver-Union Township Public Library for 874.18.

All applications were approved with Councilman Bill Githens abstaining from the vote.
