Pulaski County Health Officer, PMH Asks Community to Plan Holidays with Safe

Pulaski County Health Officer Dr. Rex Allman and officials from Pulaski Memorial Hospital ask that residents to plan upcoming holidays with social distancing in mind to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Pulaski County health officials say 30 new positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in Pulaski County which is affecting the community, area businesses and local schools.  Information provided by health officials indicate that a “major factor toward the surge of cases has been indoor, crowded spaces where people can gather, and the virus can easily spread.”

They say correct mask use and social distancing should be consistent.

As stated in a press release, “When it was decided not to recommend Trick-or-Treating this year, it was out of an abundance of caution – an attempt to limit unnecessary contact among community members. As we move further into the holiday season, we are calling on you to be cautious about your holiday plans. We wish for everyone to celebrate this joyous season with family and friends, but we must be mindful of the effects that indoor gatherings may have.”

Health officials urge social distancing, wearing a mask and washing hands with soap and water frequently throughout the day.
