COVID-19 Testing Options Available in LaPorte, Michigan City

Free COVID-19 testing will be available at the LaPorte Civic Auditorium through the end of the year. Mayor Tom Dermody announced the extension of the city’s OptumServe testing site last week.

Testing is available at the LaPorte Civic Auditorium Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., but those looking to get tested must now register ahead of time at LHI.Care/CovidTesting or 888-634-1116.

Meanwhile, LaPorte County will be adding a new COVID-19 testing site in Michigan City this week. Starting Wednesday, testing will be available at the Michigan Township Trustee’s Office at 2601 East Michigan Boulevard. It will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
