A wanted Chicago man faces the possibility of additional charges, after allegedly leading police on a chase from LaPorte to Burns Harbor Saturday. It began when LaPorte City Police tried to pull over a vehicle driven by Thomas L. Baskin, 37, according to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office.
Baskin allegedly led officers north on U.S. 35, west on I-94, north on State Road 249, and east onto U.S. 12, before finally stopping on State Road 149. The LaPorte and Porter County sheriff’s offices, Indiana State Police, and Trail Creek Police assisted.
Baskin was arrested on warrants for a parole violation, failure to return, and failure to appear. He’s also accused of resisting law enforcement, aggressive driving, reckless driving, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
