The U.S. 35 bridge in Downtown LaPorte will be closed for much of the day tomorrow, March 27, as NIPSCO upgrades its lines above the highway. INDOT says U.S. 35 will be closed between State Road 2 and Washington Street from about 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The right northbound lane is also expected to be closed on Monday, March 29 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
INDOT’s rather long official detour for tomorrow uses State Road 2, U.S. 20, and U.S. 35. The NIPSCO work was originally scheduled for February but was postponed.
