Hamlet Seeking Concrete Bids for Tauteris Memorial Walkway

The Hamlet Park Board is seeking concrete bids for the planned Robert J. Tauteris Jr. Memorial Walkway. The four-foot-wide concrete path will eventually encircle the Town Park.

During last month’s meeting, Park Board Member Brian Earnest suggested having bidders split their cost estimates into two sections, to allow the town to spread the work over multiple years, if necessary. “If we do have to piece it in two halves, I think we do part A with the memorial pad, so we can have that completed and connected to what we’ve already gotten poured when we did the street project,” Earnest said.

Town officials noted that the engineer has offered to do the framing, which could significantly reduce the cost.
