Knox City Police Investigate Ambulance, Pedestrian Accident

A pedestrian was injured after an accident with an ambulance in Knox around 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday, April 17. 

A Knox City Police Department report states a Starke County ambulance was traveling south on Heaton Street in Knox near the Delaware Street intersection when the pedestrian suddenly entered the path of the ambulance.  Witnesses at the scene told police that the man appeared to watch the ambulance get close enough and then jumped in front of it, according to the report. 

The ambulance was reportedly traveling about 35 mph when the incident occurred. 

The unconscious man was transported to the hospital after the accident.  No other injuries were reported.
