Knox and Winamac businesses can now apply for up to $10,000 in COVID-19 relief. Knox got about $200,000 to give to local businesses to help with job retention, as part of the third round of the state’s COVID-19 Response Program.
Mayor Dennis Estok says eligible businesses can get an application at CityOfKnox.net or at City Hall. “The applications do have to be in by June 25,” he told the city council Tuesday. “That’s the deadline. June 25, they have to be back in to my office.”
How well businesses have followed mask mandates and CDC guidelines could play a role in funding decisions. Businesses with up to 25 employees may submit an application.
Meanwhile, Winamac businesses have until this coming Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. EDT to apply for a share of about $150,000. For that program, businesses must have no more than 50 employees and been in operation since before March of last year, among other qualifications. Applications can be found at TownOfWinamac.com or at Winamac Town Hall.
Starke County, Pulaski County, and North Judson are also offering relief funding to businesses, thanks to the third round of the COVID-19 Response Program.
