Two Starke County Vote Center locations may change if a study shows other facilities may be feasible to host polling sites.
Starke County Clerk Bernadette Manuel told the election board members Wednesday morning that while the Koontz Lake Property Owners Building is a good site, there are parking issues on Election Day and during satellite voting times. She asked if she could talk to officials at the Koontz Lake Missionary Church to host elections there.
Manuel also wants to look at alternative sites in San Pierre because of the placement of chutes and voters utilizing chutes at the doors properly, as well as lighting and parking at the San Pierre Fire Department.
The board members agreed to do some research for alternative polling places for those sites and bring back information to the next meeting in July.
