Today is the day where community members can help children in their neighborhood seek homework help, life skills, and social and emotional devices by attending programs facilitated by the Starke County Youth Club.
The Starke County Youth Club annual Radiothon is today (Friday, May 7) on K99.3 WKVI from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT. Donations to help with programming are being taken today during this special fundraiser.
Starke County Youth Club Executive Director Irene Szakonyi will be live and she will have volunteers at the radio station taking donations to assist children in the county. She will feature students and other guests who give toward the cause to allow club members to learn important skills to help them with school and everyday life.
Szakonyi told the Starke County Council members last month that the pandemic not only took a toll on programs of the Youth Club, but revenues took a hit as well so today’s donations will go a long way.
Those wanting to extend their generosity to children in need during the Radiothon can call 574-772-6241 today (Friday, May 7) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT, or make an online donation anytime at www.thescyc.org.
