The Knox Redevelopment Commission members voted unanimously Monday afternoon to sell the building at 8 S. Main Street.
The building housed the former Independent Bikers Association and fell into disrepair several years ago. In 2018, the roof collapsed and water caused damage inside the building.
It currently stands as a shell of a structure with no plumbing or electric.
Knox Mayor Dennis Estok told the commission members that they could decide to either sell it or possibly remodel it and put another pop-up store in the space, but they did not want the hassle of remodeling the building.
They will work with Baker Tilly officials on the next steps in the selling process. In the meantime, two appraisals will be collected to see what the building is worth.
