A jury was seated Monday in the trial of James Campbell in Starke Circuit Court.
Campbell is accused of shooting 75-year-old Randall Bailey to death on Bailey’s Thanksgiving Day birthday on November 28, 2019. It ended at 400 West and 150 South when Campbell fled on foot, but was later apprehended with the assistance of a police K9.
Opening statements in the case will be presented to the jury by both the State of Indiana, represented by Starke County Prosecutor Leslie Baker, and the defense today with witness testimony to follow. Starke Circuit Court Judge Kim Hall is presiding over the trial.
