Sentencing Hearing Today for James Campbell in Starke Circuit Court

James Campbell will be sentenced in Starke Circuit Court Wednesday (August 25) morning after a jury found him guilty on felony charges of murder and resisting law enforcement, as well as a sentencing enhancement as a firearm used in the commission of the crime.

Testimony presented during a three-day trial in Starke Circuit court two weeks ago revealed that Campbell shot 75-year-old Randall Bailey to death inside his Starke County home on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2019.  It happened to be Bailey’s 75th birthday.  Campbell also fled from officers after they engaged in a police pursuit with him throughout Starke County, according to testimony.

The sentencing hearing is at 10:30 a.m. CT in Starke Circuit Court with Judge Kim Hall presiding.
