More than $19 million in matching state Secured School Safety grants have been awarded to local schools.
The Secured School Fund is administered by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. Grant-eligible items include funding for school resource officers and law enforcement officers in schools, equipment and technology, active event warning systems (no matching requirement), firearms training for teachers and staff that choose to allow guns on school property, threat assessments and to implement a student and parent support services program.
Knox Community School Corporation received $15,120, North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation received $50,000, Oregon-Davis received $49,500, Eastern Pulaski Schools received $26,038.50, West Central School Corporation received $48,800, South Central School Corporation received $50,000, and Culver Community School Corporation received $98.397.
