Knox City Council Approves Additional Downtown Handicapped Parking Space

There will be another handicapped parking space in downtown Knox at the corner of Washington and Pearl Streets.

Knox Mayor Dennis Estok informed the Knox City Council members at their last meeting that a request was made for an additional handicapped parking space near the Veterans Memorial Plaza.  He said a veteran approached a Starke County Commissioner about the idea which was passed to the Knox City Council for authority to consider the request.

Mayor Estok noted that there is one handicapped parking spot already at the southeast corner of the courthouse square on Washington Street.

The Knox City Council approved the additional space with a unanimous vote.
