Knox Mayor Dennis Estok said plans for the future development of the property that includes the former Knox Moose Lodge will be in the next phase of discussions.
He told the Knox City Council members last week that the city was awarded almost $138,000 in federal Community Development Block Grant money through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) Blight Clearance Program for the demolition of the former Knox Moose Lodge. According to the grant announcement from OCRA, the demolition includes the removal of about 6,900 square feet of floor tile and tile adhesive containing asbestos.
The city will contribute $15,000 toward the cost.
Future discussions will be held with city officials soon.
