The Pulaski County Health Department is looking to step up COVID-19 testing efforts. Nathan Origer gave an update from the county’s Incident Management Team, during Monday’s county commissioners meeting.
“Our health department has applied to reopen a COVID testing site in the county, this time through Gravity [Diagnostics], and they’re waiting to hear back on that,” he explained. “I don’t have any details on whether there will be costs associated with that again or not, like we had with Optum.”
Origer said the health department continues hosting vaccination clinics. It’s also getting ready to administer booster shots when they become available, including trying to line up funding.
In the meantime, health officials encourage all residents over the age of two to wear masks indoors or in crowded outdoor situations, and to keep up with hygiene and hand washing practices.
