UPDATE – Alan D. Morgan has been located and is in the custody of the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department.
Original story: The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department is seeking a person of interest in an investigation that police say surrounds the death of a child.
Police were called to a residence in the 3100 East block of County Road 875 South in rural Union Township in the overnight hours Monday where a child was reportedly unconscious. Two officers entered the residence and upon further investigation police say the child was deceased.
A person of interest was identified as 28-year-old Alan D. Morgan, according to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department. Police are searching for him. He could be operating a 2004 Ford Freestar minivan.
Morgan is considered to be armed and dangerous. Call 911 if he is spotted.
The death investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it is available.
Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
