Knox Mayor Dennis Estok urges business owners, church groups and non-profit organizations to get applications in for the Peppermint Parade scheduled for Saturday, December 4 at 3:30 p.m. CT.
Applications are available on the city’s website www.cityofknox.net and are due November 24. Late entries will not be accepted. There are no entry fees.
The parade will go down Main Street from the Knox Community School Corporation and end at Wythogan Park where Santa will meet with children in a drive-thru fashion. Hot cocoa and hot cider will be served.
Children may participate in an essay contest and the winners will be able to help light the tree in the park at about 5 p.m. CT that day.
If anyone would like to donate a 20-25 foot pine tree for the city’s official tree in the park for the holiday season, call the Mayor’s office at 574-772-4553.
