Starke Circuit Court will hold an Adoption Day on Friday, November 5, 2021, starting at 1:00 p.m.
National Adoption Day is an effort to raise awareness of children now living in foster homes waitingto be adopted. It also gives the public a rare opportunity to observe adoption hearings which otherwiseare confidential.
The Court has scheduled eight (8) children for possible adoption by five (5) different families.
All proceedings will be virtual, and the public is invited to watch the actual events via livestream.One can access the link through the Court’s website at www.starkecircuitcourt.com, or at the statelink at https://public.courts.in.gov/incs#/ and then selecting Starke County.
There will be opening statements from CASA Director Connie Deal and CASA volunteer Brenda Palmer.
CASA volunteers assigned to each child will speak at the hearings, as will Department of Child Services Caseworkers. CASA and DCS have worked together to provide a variety of gifts to the children to make this occasion extra special for their entire family.
By Orders of the Chief Justice of Indiana and the Judge of the Starke Circuit Court, these uncontested adoption hearings may be recorded by still photography or video.
