The Knox City Council members reviewed the proposed annual contract with the Starke County Economic Development Foundation during their meeting last week.
Mayor Dennis Estok said an increase was proposed by Foundation officials in the contract for 2022, but the council members decided to unanimously approve the contract at its current price at $65,000.
Meanwhile, the mayor informed the council that Jan Ferch donated the Christmas tree for the December 4 tree lighting in Wythogan Park at about 5 p.m. CT. Children will be able to meet with Santa and have hot cocoa and cider following the parade at 3:30 p.m. CT.
