Knox City Council Reorganizes, Makes Appointments

The Knox City Council members retained Jeff Berg as the President Pro Temp when they met Tuesday night.

They reappointed David Metz to the Board of Zoning Appeals.  They appointed Nathan Bradley and reappointed Jeff Berg to the Redevelopment Commission.  The council retained Don Kring, Jeff Berg and Ron Parker to the Planning Commission, Jeff Berg to the Starke County Economic Development Foundation, and Bill Gustafson to the Starke County Solid Waste District.

Mayor Dennis Estok announced department head appointments. Autumn Ferch was retained as City Attorney, Jeff Borg as Street Superintendent, Tim Lindewald as Water Superintendent, Jason Clemons as Wastewater Superintendent, Karl Swihart as Director of Parks and Recreation, Harold Smith as Police Chief, and Kenny Pfost as Fire Chief and Director of Building and Code Compliance and Zoning Administrator.  The mayor also appointed Bill Gustafson to the Starke County Alcohol Beverage Board, Jeff Berg as the K-IRPC representative, and Marcia Hayes, Mike Estok and Marsha Boggs on the Redevelopment Commission.

Additionally, Jim Collins and Steve Dodge will continue as members of the Knox Board of Works.
