Early voting for the 2022 Primary Election in Pulaski County will be in the microfilm room in the Pulaski County Courthouse.
Early voting is typically held in the Pulaski County Justice Center, but with ongoing construction there, the board members felt that it would be better to hold early voting in the microfilm room in the Pulaski County Courthouse.
Board member Jessye Gilley noted that it will be easier for the poll workers and for Clerk JoLynn Behny to have voting at the courthouse as they will be closer to the Clerkâs Office for any questions.
Behny added that while there was adequate security at the Justice Center for the storage of the machines and equipment, she will be happy when the voting is at the courthouse to keep everything in the same building.
Behny brought up a concern about parking with the construction fences on the south side of the courthouse, but the other board members thought there would be adequate parking. Behny may ask the Town of Winamac in an upcoming meeting about what can be done to possibly reserve parking around the courthouse for early voters.
Board member Dan Murphy asked about ADA access at the courthouse, which is available and required at all voting sites in the county.
The board unanimously voted to move the early voting location to the microfilm office, which is located across from the Auditor’s Office, in the Pulaski County Courthouse. The board discussed passing a resolution confirming the change.
