Heavy snow, and unsafe travel conditions with blowing and drifting conditions on roads have prompted the Starke County Commissioners to implement a Local Disaster Declaration.
Starke County is also under a Warning Level travel advisory which means travel is restricted to emergency vehicles only. Members of the Starke County community are asked to comply with necessary emergency measures, to cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operations plans, and to obey and comply with the lawful directions of properly identified officers.
Starke County employees will be working remotely Thursday, but Starke Circuit Court continues with virtual hearings.
