Knox School Board Approves Signage, Scissor Lift Purchases

The Knox Community School Board members approved the purchase of signage to be placed on campus.

Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart said $17,186 was approved to be spent on campus wayfinding signs to assist visitors in finding their way around the Knox Community School Corporation following the recent construction projects.

Dr. Reichhart commented, “I think there’s probably – I’m guessing nine or ten signs that will be established around the campus to direct parents and visitors to our softball diamond, our football field, our new multi-purpose gym, Weinberg parking lot that’s been redone, and other things.  Those signs will be coming in and our Graphic Arts Department at our High School will be putting the lettering on those signs.”

The board also approved the purchase of a new scissor lift for corporation use.  Dr. Reichhart noted that a stationary scissor lift has outlived its usefulness after many hours of service at the corporation.  Dr. Reichhart said the new scissor lift may be driven.

Dr. Reichhart added, “For $30,000, the board approved the purchase of a new electric lift that will stretch 40 feet and that will give us a chance to get to the lights in the Weinberg Gym, as well as be able to take it outside and use it to change bulbs or things that we need to do outside around our campus.”

The older piece of equipment will be traded in as part of the transaction.
