Officers from the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an armed robbery in the late evening hours of Saturday, February 26 at the Family Express at 7687 W. U.S. 20.
Deputies were dispatched just after 11:45 p.m. CT where two subjects entered the business armed with pistols and ordered the employee to the ground at gunpoint, according to the report. Police say the employee complied and the subjects escorted him to the register. One of the subjects reportedly removed cash from the register along with personal property belonging to the employee. Both subjects left the business, entered a nearby red newer model Chevrolet passenger vehicle with no license plate and fled southbound on Johnson Road, according to the report.
Police say the subjects are African American males. One subject is six feet tall, heavy build, wearing a sweatshirt, dark-colored jeans, a blue medical mask and blue or purple Air Jordan sneakers. The other subject is five feet tall, light build, wearing a sweatshirt, dark-colored ripped jeans, a mask, and white Air Force One sneakers.
